With four decades of executive leadership in Indigenous economic development, Ty Rutzki has consistently driven sustainable growth and built strong partnerships across construction, manufacturing, and resource sectors. Ty’s career began as Director of Finance for the Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC), where he played a key role in significant economic growth including the acquisition of NorSask Forest Products along with many other successful companies. He then served as General Manager of Mistik Management Ltd., a joint venture with NorSask, advancing Indigenous enterprise success. At Clearwater River Dene Nation Group of Companies, Ty led multiple Indigenous-owned businesses—including RobWel Constructors and IWL Steel Fabricators—to new heights originally as President and CEO for 10 years and then as Board Chair, and Managing Director. He also managed multi-million dollar investment portfolios supporting Indigenous development as Executive Director of Beaver River Community Futures Development Corporation. His expertise in advancing Indigenous economic self-determination and fostering local opportunity directly supports BRDLP’s mission to create long-term prosperity for Buffalo River Dene Nation.
Nasha Spence (CMA, CPA)

Nasha Spence has extensive expertise in financial analysis, accounting, management, strategic development, and risk management and controls. She joins BRDLP after four years as Director of Finance at the Remai Modern. Designated as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) since 2011, Nasha has worked in a range of finance and accounting roles with the City of Saskatoon, USask, and Federated Co-operatives Ltd. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology/Philosophy) from the University of Saskatchewan. Nasha is committed to protecting the interests of BRDN by ensuring due diligence evaluating potential investments and managing BRDLP’s business portfolio.
Tait Bellegarde

Tait Bellegarde joined BRDLP in September 2024. He supports CFO Nasha Spence with financial reporting and manages bookkeeping and payroll for BRDLP-entity Buffalo River Forestry. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in business economics at the University of Saskatchewan, Tait began his career in finance with a position at USask before moving on to the role of Product Specialist with FFUN Motor Group. He has spent nearly a decade researching financial markets with a dedicated focus on technical and fundamental analysis. Tait is a member of Peepeekisis Cree Nation (Treaty 4) and is excited to continue his career in finance and accounting.
