Brad Darbyshire
President & CEO

Throughout his career in construction and mining, Brad has advocated in support of increased Indigenous participation in the economy, holistic engagement with community, and business approaches grounded in Indigenous values. Among many positions in leadership, Brad was CEO of STC Industrial from 2015-2021 and CEO of Points Athabasca from 2001-2014. A founding member and Board Director of the Indigenous Manufacturing & Contracting Network (IMCN), Brad has dedicated his time to many boards and charities over the years, including Saskatchewan Industrial & Mine Supply Association (SIMSA), White Buffalo Youth Lodge, Hands On Outreach, and others.

Rory Duncan

Rory Duncan has been working with BRDN Chief & Council on the Nation’s economic development goals since 2021. With nearly two decades of experience in mining, oil and gas sectors and expertise in engineering, design and project management, Rory also has a strong background in business administration (management, reporting, policy development and implementation), development, communications, finance, and strategy. He has served on a number of boards during his career, including SIMSA (Saskatchewan Mining & Industrial Supply Association), and CIM Saskatoon, where he advocated in support of provincial and Indigenous businesses and community.

Nasha Spence (CMA, CPA)

Nasha Spence has extensive expertise in financial analysis, accounting, management, strategic development, and risk management and controls. She joins BRDLP after four years as Director of Finance at the Remai Modern. Designated as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) since 2011, Nasha has worked in a range of finance and accounting roles with the City of Saskatoon, USask, and Federated Co-operatives Ltd. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology/Philosophy) from the University of Saskatchewan. Nasha is committed to protecting the interests of BRDN by ensuring due diligence evaluating potential investments and managing BRDLP’s business portfolio. 

Kia Wright
Administrative Assistant

A member of Buffalo River Dene Nation, Kia Wright is BRDLP’s Administrative Assistant. Kia plays a crucial role in supporting the executive team, and is dedicated to helping people and making a difference, both within the organization and in the broader community. She has a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills. Kia manages a wide range of administrative and communications-related duties, including organizing and scheduling meetings and events and producing and distributing memos, letters, and reports. Driven by a passion for innovation and creativity, Kia continually seeks out new ways to improve processes and actively pursues opportunities for her own personal and professional growth. 

Tait Bellegarde

Tait Bellegarde joined BRDLP in September 2024. He supports CFO Nasha Spence with financial reporting and manages bookkeeping and payroll for BRDLP-entity Buffalo River Forestry. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in business economics at the University of Saskatchewan, Tait began his career in finance with a position at USask before moving on to the role of Product Specialist with FFUN Motor Group. He has spent nearly a decade researching financial markets with a dedicated focus on technical and fundamental analysis. Tait is a member of Peepeekisis Cree Nation (Treaty 4) and is excited to continue his career in finance and accounting.
